AFTER THE TOUR IS BEFORE THE TOUR!

Our 4th Classic Tour Kronberg last weekend once again proved a certainty: there is every reason to look forward to the next edition!

But before we reveal the exact date of the event in 2018, we take a passionate look back. Two days of incredibly rich experiences lie behind us. There was, of course, a colorfully mixed field of participants.
Over 100 classic cars with individual personalities and distinct histories lined up on Friday in the city of Oberursel. Even two pre-war models were spotted. And the crews, composed of drivers and co-pilots, showed great diversity – youngsters, seniors, women, men, rally-experienced and rookies ready for their premier tour.

This kaleidoscope of characters was complemented by the rich contrast and beautiful impressions of the selected routes: These led through the scenic district situated between the Rhein and Lahn rivers, across the Taunus and Spessart mountains. Through thick forests, picturesque villages and medieval towns; along narrow serpentine roads and long straight stretches.

This time even the weather played all of its tricks: during the technical scrutineering procedures, one was inclined to wear rubber boots and a thick rain jacket. Later, the sun occasionally peaked through the cloudy skies. And on Saturday, when the thermometer indicated a stingy six degrees Celsius on the heights of the Großer Feldberg (highest elevation of the Taunus mountains, 879.5 m a.s.l.), one was glad for every garment that provided shield from the chilly winds.

Last but not least, our Classic Tour was an entertaining journey between the past and the future. On one hand, the perfectly preserved knight’s castle Marksburg served as an ideal backdrop for our likewise well cared for vintage cars. On the other hand, the Ampera-e Challenge at Opel’s proving ground near Dudenhofen, gave insights into the next chapter of mobility.

Of course every participant of the Classic Tour 2017 will remember the event differently. But one thing everyone took with them was a 70 × 50 cm photography of their beloved four wheel gem in action – an ideal means to look back on 2017 with excitement and at the same time to feverishly look forward to the upcoming event:

The 5th Classic Tour scheduled to take place from September 7 to 8, 2018.

We look forward to seeing you.
