The Porsche 911 was – and still is – the archetypal sports car for everyday driving. The successor of the legendary Porsche 356 was presented in 1963, originally christened 901. Series production of the 901 began in September 1964.
When Porsche presented the vehicle at the Paris Motor Show in October of that year, the French car manufacturer Peugeot objected to the model designation as it had patented a three-digit type designation with a zero in the middle. Porsche therefore renamed the 901 to 911. Today, the first generation of the 911 is regarded as the emblem of the brand.
Our collector’s item was first registered in Sicily in 1968 and is one of the last specimens with a short wheelbase. The crystal blue eye catcher strikes out as a conspicuous splash of color in the otherwise monochrome monotony of today’s road traffic. Thanks to the agile two liter engine producing 160 PS – it guarantees a special driving pleasure with a sound that causes enthusiasts to get goose bumps.
Reworked seats in original black synthetic leather, a discreet sportive steering wheel and an orderly cockpit mitigate the conspicuous appearance of this classic icon.
